A local high-tech company is expanding its reach in the internet business. Fort Saskatchewan-based Virtutone Networks Inc. announced last week they had won the contract to provide voice-over internet (VOIP) and fax-over internet (FOIP) services to The Cash Store Financial Services.

Regional NewsUpgrader shuts down for maintenance

Shell's bitumen upgrader started its first major maintenance shut down since 2006 over the weekend. The shut down will see about 2,000 contractors on site inspecting and maintaining the 155,000 barrel-per-day upgrader, which came online in 2003, site spokesperson Tanya Ristoff said Monday.
